Tax Credit Connection Inc.’s

Small Grant Program Success

Since 2006, Tax Credit Connection, Inc. has given out 35 small grants totaling $17,000.  These small grants helped fund nearly a dozen conservation easement workshops throughout the state of Colorado, brochures and newsletters for nine different organizations, and equipment to help land trusts to make presentations on the benefits of conservation easements.

“I wanted to find a way to help land trusts to easily obtain funding for projects that would have a great impact on educating landowners of conservation easement benefits. By making the application process simple and keeping the grant awards modest, Tax Credit Connection was able to assist many different land trusts with their outreach efforts,”
-
Ariel Steele, Tax Credit Connection, Inc.’s president

Because of the great interest in this program, Tax Credit Connection, Inc. will offer it again next year and looks forward to helping Colorado conservation organizations to spread the word about the new tax benefits available to landowners who decide to preserve their land with a conservation easement.

Land Trusts operating in Colorado and Colorado governments with open space programs are eligible for Tax Credit Connection’s Small Grants Program.  This program is designed to award grants in the amounts of $300-500 per grant for activities that help to educate landowners and/or their professionals about the value of conservation easements.

The application process is simple, merely call, e-mail or write to Ariel Steele at Tax Credit Connection, Inc. explaining your proposal in a few sentences and requesting the amount you need for your activity.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so let us know about your project at any time.
